Hundreds of thousands of Cornish miners left Cornwall, England in the 19th century looking for mining jobs throughout the world. My great-grandfather was one of these miners. I am working on a project to tell the story of these miners.

This article is interesting for me because of interest in the Cornwall diaspora. It is stunning to read that the Cornish miners sent remittances back to Cornwall from their wages earned in Mexico.
